About us

Taekwondo club "ZLATNI LJILJANI" was founded on 2. October 2003. It is one of the youngest taekwondo clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but with our professional, serious and hard work, we managed to gather a remarkable number of young athletes in a very short period of time, and become the largest and the most successful taekwondo club in Bosnia and Herzegovina (see results).

Our club currently consists of 13 schools in different cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina: Sarajevo, Vogosca, Ilidza, Hadzici, Pazaric, Tarcin, Olovo and Kladanj. The number of members of our club exceeds 300 and it is constatntly growing, which is the best proof of our professionalism. We maintain very good relationships with the parents of our students as well, and our research among them shows that the students and their parents are very satisfied with our approach and way of teaching, but this fact does not stop us from trying to develop our methods and become even better.

Our greatest hope is that we will be able to reach our goals and raise top-quality athletes that will successfully present Bosnia and Herzegovina across the world.

Our goals

One of our primary goals is physical and psychological education of youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that they could be prepared for any kind of life situations, and be successful first in this country, and later in the world as well. Our biggest motivation is the actual situation of our children and youth who, faced with enormous challenges and hopelessness in this country, are more and more forced to look for the way out in the wrong places (such as alcohol, drugs, and other vices). Our youth's main gathering places are bars where they can only gain bad habits and companions, and thus harm themselves, their families, society and country. What we wish to accomplish through this sport is to help them find their place in this world by refreshing and strengthening their self-confidence; and most importantly, by helping them find the true values in life which circumvent all bad habits, so that they can first help themselves, and later to their country as well.

Taekwondo differs from other sports in that it gives athletes discipline, moral, respect and character; it builds a strong personality that respects its nation and its country, and it helps them subdue their ego by awaking their feelings for the society they live in. One of the main reasons for young people to choose this sport in the first place is the fact that in Taekwondo they see the opportunity to express their lively nature which is more and more provoked by enormous examples of violence they can see every day on streets, TV and in other media; however, with the education and discipline that Taekwondo provides, they will learn how to control themselves and live their lives the right way through sport. They will also learn that the physical aspect is not the most important one, and that it is only one part which only with spiritual aspect makes a whole. Taekwondo's most important principle is 'DO' which represents 'way, discipline, moral, respect and reason'.
